Book Study Discussion Board

  • I tell people I work with, Confusion Costs Money. This is true for schools, businesses, personal finance, etc. I appreciated the axiom from this part of the book, “You pay a price when you’re out of integrity” because this axiom showcases the confusion brought about when you don’t deliver on a promise or the mistrust brought about when performance doesn’t match words.

  • I like models and remember things better when I can visualize a problem or an open loop. In particular, I like the circle diagram with the loop opened to demonstrate being out of integrity. I refer to these open loops a lot when coaching and hadn’t thought of it with integrity until reading/seeing this. I generally equate open loops with cognitive dissonance and this “integrity dissonance” really grabbed me.
